I know the feeling, but women in general, gay people in general, trans people in general, and nonwhite people in general don’t deserve the blame on this. It’s a matter of ideology and social mania in the age of social media.
We should remember that most people are going about their daily lives and don’t exactly have a proper gauge on what’s been going on with identitarian social justice developments, even though those developments have been changing institutions and the fabric of society around them.
For the most part I think we all hold a kind of collective responsibility for what’s happened. There have also been many opportunistic individuals who’ve worked these dynamics to their own ends without any care for the “collateral damage” they’ve enacted, some of whom certainly qualify for cluster b personality disorder diagnoses.
Some people would say that this was an inevitable result of egalitarianism--of opening the floodgates for everyone to have a say, instead of only relatively well-off heterosexual Christian white men.
The jury is still out, but so far, you can't say that they're wrong. The real world isn't a movie, there's no happy ending where trade offs stop existing and somehow everyone just gets along.
These people were warned time and time again, and in their self-righteous hubris, they went for the necks of those who were trying to help them.
They deserve absolutely everything coming to them. The rest of us are eager to witness it.
